With over 10 years experience in the industry, David is all about conveying a powerful narrative through the artistic, creative and technical knowledge of lighting, composition and movement, creating fascinating and exceptional visuals that profoundly resonate with and captivate the heart and soul.

As the founder of SOFT FOCUS Media David is involved in a wide range of professional video productions primarily focused on music videos, actor showreels and promos for local businesses. As a filmmaker and cinematographer David regularly collaborates with a diverse group of creative professionals to create artistically fulfilling and interesting works.

David will also be overseeing the production of every video ensuring it is of the highest quality and in line with the vision of the artist or client.

David has recently picked up a Silver and Bronze award at the 2022 ACS Cinematography Awards for two of his recent music videos.

SIYUAN (GOSS) GAO

Director/ Writer

Siyuan Gao is a director/videographer with 6 years of experience in video production. Graduated from the Master of Media at The University of Melbourne, Siyuan has contributed to multiple advertisement production, music videos, documentaries as well as independent short films.

Siyuan is the silver award winner in One Show Youth Creative Award; A national advertising competition and has achieved over a couple of million views of his work with a v-blogger Park on Weibo, a social media platform in China.

Siyuan is excited to use his creatives and skills to produce more high-end projects in the future.

DIAKO

Director/ Writer

Diako is a passionate Iranian director who first worked with us as a humble lighting assist, and has progressed immensely as a creative filmmaker since, doing all sorts of roles on many of our projects, primarily picking up skills in the lighting and camera departments.

Diako wrote and directed his first short film Yalda’s Night in-between Melbourne’s many lockdowns last year, bringing a rarely seen perspective of the Pandemic through the eyes of an Iranian couple. The film was completed swiftly and already a number of other projects are in development.

With his unequalled dedication to the craft and charming personality Diako has quickly grown to be an integral member of our filmmaking team.
